Questions about withdrawals on Bittrex

This article goes over some common questions and scenarios that you may encounter when withdrawing with Bittrex.

Questions about crypto withdrawals

Where is my withdrawal?
When a withdrawal has been initiated from your account you may have questions on where to find the TxID/transaction hash or where the withdrawal is if it has not yet arrived at the destination. Bittrex does not control the blockchain nor can we make it go any faster. The transaction time is controlled solely by the blockchain of the coin that you are depositing. If your withdrawal is not showing on your account, here is a few troubleshooting tips and tricks to review.

  • Were you provided with a TxID or hash to verify the transaction was processed?
    • Review your transaction on the blockchain to see if it has been confirmed. If the transaction has confirmations on the blockchain, you will need to reach out to the receiving side for more assistance.
    • If the transaction is not on the blockchain please wait for the transaction to process. If it has been 24 hours, then submit a support ticket using the Help with Withdrawals form with our support staff.
    • If you were not provided a TxID or hash, you can access your balance page by going to the Holdings page and selecting the Withdrawals tab. If your transaction was broadcasted to the blockchain, a TxID or transaction hash will appear in the Withdrawals section.
    • If you were provided a TxID but does not appear on the blockchain and has been 24 hours then submit a support ticket using the Help with Withdrawals form with our support staff as it is possible that the withdrawal has orphaned.
  • Does the transaction show Unauthorized or Invalid in the Pending Withdrawals section?
    • You can access your balance page by going to the Holdings page and selecting the Withdrawals tab. Scroll down to Pending Withdrawals. Review your pending withdraw status for errors.
    • Was the withdrawal Authorized? If you have two-factor authentication (2FA) enabled, you will be prompted to enter your 2FA code during the withdrawal process. If you do not have 2FA, you will need click the verification link provided through the systems withdrawal confirmation email.  In rare cases, you may see an Authorized state for longer than expected. Please be patient, the withdrawal will still process but may need extra time or manual interaction, which we perform throughout the day.
    • Was the withdrawal sent to an invalid address? All coins have a unique address and blockchain. They must be sent to the correct address type on the correct blockchain. (e.g. BTC to BTC, XLM to XLM). If the coin was sent to an address that is not valid for the blockchain, the transaction will not be completed. Coins that require messages may show up as invalid if you enter an invalid message into the tag/paymentID/memo/message field. If you are withdrawing one of these coins to a destination that does not require a tag/paymentID/memo/message, please leave this field blank.
    • All pending withdrawals that you wish to have cancelled, must be cancelled by the user. Click the red x next to the withdrawal to release the reserved funds for another withdrawal attempt.
    • If you attempt to cancel your withdrawal and you receive an error such as "Error: PAYMENT_IN_PROGRESS" submit a support ticket using the Help with Withdrawals form with our support staff and include a screenshot of the error you have encountered.
  • Do you have a sufficient balance to complete the withdrawal?
    • If your balance is not enough to cover the withdrawal, you will see the error "Your available balance is not sufficient for this withdrawal." This error indicates that your balance does not meet the minimum withdrawal criteria (3x the TxFee). If you feel this is in error, review any open orders or pending deposits to see if your coins are held in reserve.
    • If your balance is insufficient you will either need to sell the coin on the market, buy/deposit more of the coin to meet the minimum withdrawal criteria, or if there is no market available, the funds will remain on the account, unusable.

Why are we charged a withdrawal fee, how do I find it, and in what way does it impact withdrawals?

Our intention is to not make any profits on withdraws, however, each coin has a network transfer fee that is built into the coin. This means that we must charge a small amount to cover this fee.

  • You can view the fee for a coin by clicking the Withdraw button next to the coin to bring up the withdraw window which shows the fee. The minimum withdrawal amount is 3x the transaction fee. (e.g. DOGE has a Tx Fee of 2.0 The Minimum withdrawal is 6.00000001). Alternatively you can also review the API to calculate the minimum withdrawal. Use "Ctrl+F" to search the coin's name and "TxFee" information.
  • If your balance is insufficient due to the fee, you will either need to sell the coin on the market, buy/deposit more of the coin to meet the minimum withdrawal criteria, or if there is no market available, the funds will remain on the account but unusable.

I withdrew my coins/tokens to the incorrect address or blockchain. What can I do?
Once a withdrawal has cleared on the blockchain, Bittrex no longer has these funds. You may be able to find assistance with the receiving end of the transaction.

I am trying to withdraw my funds and they require a memo, tag, or payment ID, but there is no place to input the tag when withdrawing. What do I do?
Bittrex does not always support the use of a memo, tag, or payment ID for certain coins/tokens. If you are considering transferring your coins/tokens to a different exchange that does require a memo/tag, we recommend transferring your coins/tokens to a personal or third party wallet first.

The market for my coin was removed and now I need to withdraw my coins. How long do I have?
Bittrex generally seeks to provide users up to 14 days to withdraw any delisted tokens, but in certain instances the withdrawal period may be shortened. Users should withdraw any tokens before the posted withdrawal deadline.

If you still need assistance with any withdrawal questions or concerns, submit a support ticket using the Help with Withdrawals form and include as many details about your issue as possible for our customer service agents to investigate.
