Dai (DAI) will be upgrading their system from a single-collateral token to a Multi-Collateral Dai token on December 2, 2019. To reflect this change, Bittrex will rename the current Dai (DAI) token to Sai (SAI) on November 18, 2019 to differentiate between the token types. Bittrex will conduct a one-time token swap to the multi-collateral DAI on Dec 3, 2019, after which the ticker symbol will revert back to DAI.
Timeline:
- November 18, 2019: Single-collateral Dai is renamed to Sai (SAI).
- December 3, 2019: Single-collateral Sai is upgraded to Multi-Collateral Dai. It will then be renamed Dai (DAI) again.
All DAI users will retain the balance of their DAI addresses, which will be temporarily renamed SAI and then migrated to a new multi-collateral contract with the DAI ticker symbol.
Users' DAI Bittrex exchange balance totals will reflect the same DAI total that they had prior to the contract swap in a 1:1 manner. Once the swap is complete, all ERC20 tokens from the old single-collateral contract will no longer be supported or traded on Bittrex.
Bittrex will re-enable the DAI wallet when we and the Maker Protocol team agree the migration is satisfactory.
Note: Wallets will be closed for deposits and withdrawals at 1:00 PM PST on 12/3/2019 (8:00 PM UTC on 12/3/2019). If any single-collateral SAI deposits you had sent to Bittrex are not settled by then (marked as pending), you may not be credited with Multi-Collateral Dai.
We would like to thank the Maker Protocol team for working closely with us.
