Grin (GRIN) will be upgrading their blockchain for a network wide upgrade to Grin v2.0.0, which will change their Proof of Work algorithm to Cuckarood29 to discourage ASIC mining. API changes will also go into effect, and older V0 slate files will become incompatible. The hard fork will become operational at block height 262,080 on approximately July 17, 2019 at 05:47:17 UTC
All Grin users will retain the balance of their GRIN addresses, which will be migrated to the new blockchain.
Users' GRIN Bittrex International exchange balance totals will reflect the same total that they had prior to the swap in a 1:1 manner. Once the swap is complete, all tokens from the old blockchain will no longer be supported or traded on Bittrex.
Bittrex International will re-enable the Grin wallet when we deem the migration is satisfactory. Wallets may be closed for over a week while we complete the migration.
Note: Wallets will be closed for deposits and withdrawals at 3:00 PM PST on 7/16/2019 (10:00 PM UTC on 7/16/2019). If any GRIN deposits you had sent to Bittrex International are not settled by then (marked as pending), you may not be credited with GRIN.
Trading will continue as normal during this time.
