July 2015
There has been a lot of discussion on the upcoming Ethereum hard fork and the DAO refund. Here are the things you should know for the upcoming days.
1) The hard fork is happening on block 1,920,000. As of this post, we are ~54 hours from the hard fork - you can check the estimated time on http://etherscan.io/. We will disable the wallet probably ~1 hours ahead of the fork and no more deposits or withdrawals will be processed until the wallet is re-enabled. Trading is unaffected by this event.
2) We are running the latest geth (https://github.com/ethereum/go-ethereum/releases) set to "no fork choice." This means we will support the fork with the majority vote.
3) I am unsure how long the wallet will be disabled. We will not turn it back on until the chain is completely stabilized and consensus is reached. If you want access to your ETH during this time, please withdraw your funds in the next 24 hours.
4) If the hardfork is accepted, we will automatically convert your DAO back to ETH 48 hours after the process is complete. If you want access to your DAO, please withdraw it before this time period. Your DAO will be automatically converted back to ETH at a 1:100 ratio after this 48 hour period. Those who participated late and have funds in the "extra balance" will get those at a later time.

While we expect consensus to be reached and a majority chain to be obvious, we are monitoring the situation closely and will update this document if necessary. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at support@bittrex.com.
