When the ByteCent miner was released, there were concerns raised by crowdfund supporters about the mining rates. The rate of coins produced (roughly 16,000 in the first day when we investigated) was higher than the 1440 coins per day that was originally published in the ByteCent specification. This discrepancy stems from the Prime Six algorithm used which is designed to auto adjust hashing difficulty. While hashing has now adjusted to greatly reduce the coins mined per day, we reached out to the ByteCent team to decide on a path forward.
Beginning at Midnight, November 14, 2014, we will be providing a 48 hour window for anyone to receive a refund on their donation to ByteCent. This will be done with a buy wall and the wallet will remained closed for deposits and withdrawals. After this window, normal trading will begin.
